Security and quality

Security and quality, built in from the first decision

We run our own fleet of connected devices, so security and release quality aren't a checklist for us. They are how we keep our own products working in the field. Here is what we build into your product and how we handle your project.

Security by design, from boot to cloud

Secure boot and a chain of trust

Only signed software runs on the device, from the bootloader up.

Signed, fail-safe OTA updates

A/B updates with automatic rollback, so an update can't brick a device in the field.

Device identity

A unique identity and credentials for every device, provisioned in the factory.

Hardened Linux

A minimal, maintained OS image with unused services removed and kernels kept current.

Vulnerability management

We track the components in your software and patch them over the product's whole field life.

EU Cyber Resilience Act readiness

Secure defaults, a documented update process and vulnerability handling designed in, not added before launch.

Release quality proven on our own fleet

Every practice we offer, we use on LaMetric devices first: 250 releases shipped over the air to a fleet scaling toward 100,000 devices in 20+ countries.

  • Automated testing on real hardware: CI/CD with hardware-in-the-loop tests before any release.
  • Staged rollouts: releases go to a small group of devices first, with monitoring and automatic halt.
  • Production test and traceability: end-of-line tests and per-unit records from the factory floor.

NDA from the first call

We sign your NDA or ours before you share details.

You own what we build

Deliverables and source code are yours on payment.

Access on a need-to-know basis

Only the engineers on your project see your code, designs and data.

Clear contracts

Fixed-price or time-and-materials, with scope, milestones and acceptance agreed up front.

Is your device ready for the Cyber Resilience Act?

Since 11 September 2026, makers of connected products sold in the EU must report actively exploited vulnerabilities. From 11 December 2027, every new product needs CE marking under the CRA. Our checklist covers what to have in place, in plain engineering language.

FAQ

Yes. We review your device and update process against the CRA’s requirements and close the gaps: secure boot, signed updates, vulnerability handling and documentation.

You do. Deliverables and source code transfer to you on payment.

Yes, before any technical discussion.
